MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION CONDITIONS

1. Meetings
These competitions will be held each year provisionally over six events for Solos and four for Sidecars and Quads, to be selected by the Competitions Committee. The Eastern Centre Championships must take precedence over any other events being staged at Championship Meeting.

2. Title
Each meeting shall be entitled the “EASTERN CENTRE MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ... (Solo/Experts/Juniors/Sidecar/Quads) Round No. ...” to appear on all documents and advertising.

3. Classes
The classes will be:

  1. Solo Expert (irrespective of capacity)
  2. Solo Juniors (irrespective of capacity)
  3. Sidecars up to 1300cc
  4. Quads up to 750cc

Any change of machine from that declared on the entry form, either before or during the event, MUST be notified to the Secretary of the Meeting.

4. Eligibility
Championship meetings may be run under a Regtional Restricted Permit subject to agreement of the invited centres.
Open to any competitor holding an Adult or Dual Race Licence who has been a member of an Eastern Centre Club, or of a club within an invited centre, for at least one month prior to the event. Such Eastern Centre competitors shall be eligible to score points for their nominated club which shall be that declared on their first entry for the Championships. Once a driver has declared him/herself in this way to be a member of a particular club, points may not be scored for any other club during any one Championship year unless that former club shall have ceased to exist in the course of that period.

5. Entries
All Supplementary Regulations and Entry Forms must be published in the Eastern Centre Gazette at least one month prior to the closing date for entries. If entries are to be limited, the method must be clearly stated in the Supplementary Regulations. Entries received before closing date from all those who have already scored points in that year's Championship must be accepted. The ENTRY FEE for each event to be a minimum of £40 for Solos and Quads and £50 for Sidecars at the discretion of the organising club.
Clubs may state in their regulations:

  1. “as a condition of acceptance of late entries riders, must provide a responsible marshal”
  2. “Balloting to provide as responsible marshal may take place”

6. Races
(a) Solos: There will be three Championship legs of 15 minutes plus 1 lap for Experts and two Championship legs of 12 minutes plus 1 lap for Juniors.
Solo Race Programme to be as per Championship guidelines with a minimum of 20 starters to form a class at any Championship round.
(b) Sidecars: Two Championship legs of 12 minutes plus 1 lap shall be held at each event, plus one non-Championship race with a minimum of 10 starters to form a class at any Championship round.
(c) Quads: Three Championship legs of 12 minutes plus 1 lap shall be held at each event with a minimum of 20 starters to form a class at any round of a championship.

7. Start
The start must be of a live engine clutch type The method used must be to the satisfaction of the Competitions Committee.

8. Points
Points will be awarded for each leg to Expert, Junior, Sidecars or Quads on the following scale:
lst - 20 points, 2nd - 17 points, 3rd - 15 points, 4th - 13 points, 5th - 11 points, 6th - 10 points and then reducing by 1 point per position until 15th - 1 point.
Points will be awarded to each competitor's club for each leg on the same scale

9. Results
The competitor gaining the highest number of points from all 12 races (legs) will be declared the Eastern Centre ... (Expert, Junior, Sidecar, Quads) Moto Cross Champion. The Champion club shall be that whose competitors have gained the highest number of points. For this purpose each leg at each Championship Meeting shall be scored separately and the respective scores per club totalled for the year.

10. Ties
In the event of a tie on the total number of points scored, the Individual Champion will be decided in favour of the competitior gaining the greater number of first places, failing which, the greater number of second places, and so on.
If two or more Clubs gain the same total number of points at the end of the year, the Club whose score has been amassed from the smaller number of legs will have the advantage, failing which, the Club having the larger number of higher value aggregate best scores .

11. Recording of Results
It is the responsibility of each Club organising a Championship meeting to furnish a completed programme and official results (complete list of ALL finishers in EACH championship leg) to the Centre Recorder, the Centre Steward and the Centre Secretary within 7 day of the event. Each organiser must include in the Programme the current position of the Championship class (solo, sidecar or quads) which is being held at the meeting, details of which will be supplied by the Centre Recorder.

12. Change of Status
For the purpose of these rules, a Junior who is upgraded to Exert during the year will carry the status held at the first Championship race contested.

13. Awards
The following Eastern Centre Annual Trophies will be awarded for one year only and may not be won outright. Replicas will also be given:

Sidecar Champion
Quad Champion
Cchampion Club

A.B. Mullee Trophy
R.G. Hadler Trophy
Albert Carter Challenge Trophy
Andy Crawford Challenge Trophy
Braintree Trophy
Gavin Hockey Motorcycles Challenge Trophy
J. Costain & Sons Challenge Trophy

Should any Champion not be resident within the Eastern Centre boundaries, the best Centre Resident
in that class shall be awarded the 'named' Trophy, and an additional Trophy will be awarded to any non-resident Champion.

14. Prize Money
Minimum total prize money £600
Minimum prize money to 8th place in Expert, Junior Championship classes
Prize money to be paid to Championship Group riders only
Prize money for Sidecars and Quad classes to be paid to at least 5th place; the amount being at the organiser club’s discretion.
Regulations must state minimum prize monies.

15. Jurisdiction
The Decision of the Eastern Centre Competitions Committee on all matters relating to these Championship competitions shall be final.

Qualifiers to be run as races 1, 2, 3 and 4 (if four races)

1st to 10th from each group to Junior Championship races
11th to 20th from each group Group B
21st to 30th from each group Group C
31st to 40th from each group Group D (if 160 juniors)

Followed by Expert Championship Leg 1 - 15 minutes + 1 lap
